Fraunhofer Institute for
Systems and Innovation Research ISI

Innovation course gives interested parties insights into many years of research

Press Release 19/04/2012

From now on, the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI will be offering a course on innovation twice a year. The course builds on Fraunhofer ISI’s comprehensive knowledge of innovation research and passes on the Institute’s own findings from many years of research in different learning modules. The first chance to attend such a course will be given from 9 to 11 May 2012 in Karlsruhe.

As one of the largest innovation research institutes in Germany, the Fraunhofer ISI hopes to generate an understanding of the systemic aspects of innovation processes. The course addresses the complexity of defining the term of innovation and offers an in-depth view of different topics in individual modules. The innovation course’s program emphasizes the connections between the different subsystems of national systems of innovation.

The course kicks off by covering general theory and practical issues of innovation research. Building on this, the results of recent research conducted at the institute will be processed in other modules and placed in a systemic context. A total of nine modules can be combined with each other. The biggest possible flexibility is achieved by constructing the course in this way. The modules are put together by experts in the respective fields.

The presenters are researchers at Fraunhofer ISI who are continuously and intensively involved in work on the respective topics. They supplement the theoretical and practical knowledge of the Fraunhofer ISI with examples from their scientific research.

The course, which has been designed for a maximum of 15 persons, is mainly aimed at those responsible for promoting innovation, technology and innovation policy, innovation management or designing and financing innovation processes. It also addresses project managers, interested engineers and scientists and students of related fields.

The course will take place on fixed dates twice a year. In addition to this, Fraunhofer ISI also offers individually designed courses on request. More information on the course modules, dates and costs can be found at www.isi-innovation-training.de. Please send any email queries to info@isi-innovation-training.de.
